VB does LA with IPA & a dash of WTF

To moisten up the totes blog drought…..(yep nothing since Cov Cross just after Xmas 2017) we thought it would not only be worth polishing up the blog spot with some recent schenanigans but also double check the new web site is hosting the megabits in the correct binary outage terrabritely.

So skip 3 months into April, most of the winter went without incident, as we all know awful weather and a few dustings of snow.

Velobants has grown a little, we’ve ordered new kit (MTB and CX) and starting working on some new projects (VERY exciting). After a few creative mood board sessions in Golden Square with Satchi & Satchi we finally agreed on the rebrand logos. (#thanksLee) and now have a solid “brand identity” we can start to throw on kit, merch and skin….yes…..Jase has a VB tattoo…..ask him!!!

Anyhow 2018 was a little different in terms of the annual cycling trip….for the last 4 years it’s been Mallorca….but 2018 saw us raise the bar and hit Los Angeles with the MTBs.

We stayed with a friend in West Hills, welcomed on arrival with 90 degree heat, a keg and an invitation to the infamous RideNPint at Pedalers Fork.

This place is amazing…..a fantastic restaurant, on site 10 Speed Coffee house, a bike shop / MOOTS delearship and lots of cool beers. A must visit if you are in or near LA…..go in, get a brew and get merched up !!!

The days were generally all of a similar format: Wake Up with IPA hangover > Ride in 90 degree heat > Pool > Beer > Sun > Out Out > Repeat.

We hit up some great places; Bogeys (Westlake Village Cougar Bar) , Dodgers game, BBQs, blah blah. Riding was from the valley down to Malibu, totally amazing. The only regret was not bringing a road and CX/ Gravel bike too as the area is a bikers dream.
